A shadowed interior opens onto a tranquil landscape of trees and distant rooftops. The window’s geometric divisions and closely spaced balcony rails contrast with softly shaded foliage and scattered leaves. A lamp at the left gives the scene an intimate domestic presence, while restrained gray and warm yellow tones create a quiet, contemplative atmosphere.
This color lithograph is plate three from the four-print portfolio Interiors & Backyards (1977), catalogue L.125. Pencil-signed “Kipniss” at the lower right and numbered 63/250 at the lower left. Catalogue image dimensions: 16 × 12 inches. Presented under glass with matting in a frame measuring 19.5 × 24 inches overall.
Condition: Frame shows signs of handling and wear, mat shows some debris. Artwork in excellent shape.
Identification reference: The Editions of Robert Kipniss, 1967–2023: Key to the Catalogue, page 73.
